With on-campus study hall this year, we have had ZERO cases of transmission within our school or any other school in Collegiate Academies. Our school will continue to follow guidance and requirements from the Centers for Disease Control, the Louisiana Department of Education, and NOLA Public Schools to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. Safety measures include:
Masks: All students, staff, and visitors must wear a face covering throughout the school day.
Social distancing: In classrooms, students will be spaced at least 3 feet apart. Throughout our hallways, cafeteria, and other spaces, staff and students should socially distance by maintaining at least 6 feet of distance between one another.
Hand hygiene: Hand sanitizer will be present throughout the building for students, staff, and visitors to regularly sanitize and wash their hands.
Disinfection and cleaning: Our custodial team will continue to disinfect the building throughout the day and in the evening.
Ventilation: Our air conditioning systems have been extensively updated so that air is frequently circulated. This means that there is less potential for air particles to linger in a room.
Vaccines: We encourage anyone eligible to receive a COVID vaccine to get one. Having the vaccine reduces your likelihood of contracting the virus and increases your body's ability to fight the virus. Anyone 12+ can receive the Pfizer vaccine, anyone 18+ can receive the Moderna vaccine. Go to ready.nola.gov to see the full list of vaccination sites in New Orleans.
Updates in guidance and recommendations may lead to changes in our policies. We will keep you informed of any changes.
All Collegiate Academies schools offer weekly COVID testing for students and staff. Weekly testing is recommended for ALL students and REQUIRED for unvaccinated students participating in athletics, marching units, and other co-curriculars. Individuals who participate regularly will receive $10 per test through a virtual gift card from the Louisiana Department of Health.
